Default The Cheapest way to get around Italy

Trains are the best way to go for the near-by places.
Example: get a Eurail Pass (Youth) you buy and tickets are approx 11€ each trip depending on where your traveling, and they take up "1 day" on your ticket. So if you get the "1 Youth/3 Countries/8 Days" You pick 3 countries that you will plan to travel by train, so I would recommend Italy, Switzerland, France since they're the bordering countries. So if you wanna travel to Nice, instead of paying 100 Euros you pay 11€ and 1 day out of 8 days is used. So if you are planning to do a lot of traveling by train, definitly go to the website and check out the different kinds of Eurail passes that fits you the best.
But remember some flights are cheap and instead of taking a 6 hr train ride, you can take a flight in 45 mins for 100 €, so it depends on you:

To reach the small turistic place around Italy the best way is to use a bus. The bus network works more efficiently than the train network and most of the time is on time. It is also the cheapest solution.

Hi!
From what I gathered, the railway system is the cheapest way to get around.Best way is the train for regional or long distance, then the bus. The fares are really reasonable and it's easy to get around.
